Course Description:

Are you new to ACH, have some experience or perhaps you’ve been processing ACH transactions for many years, this 2-Day seminar will cover details from the basics to the more complex issues when processing ACH transactions.

Even if you’ve been processing ACH transactions forever, each part within this 2-day event will help you grasp “the how and the why” of the ACH network. Operations staff process ACH transactions each day but still don’t really know the intricacy of how the ACH network flows and details surrounding the behind the scenes of their day-to-day processes. Knowing the details makes it easier to resolve those issues that may occur every day or very seldom; knowing “how” transactions move within the network helps identify possible solutions.

Nacha Operating Rules change each year, adding responsibilities to each participant in the network. This 2-day seminar will include an overview of recent Rules changes affecting each participant in the network and what that means to your ACH operations.

Why Should You Attend:

This virtual 2-day seminar/workshop will identify the ins and outs of the ACH network, beginning with “How the ACH Network works”, the participants, their roles and responsibilities, different types of payments, including settlement and funds availability.

Exception processes will be covered, from prenotes to recurring transactions, from general returns to extended returns, stop payments, notification of change (NOC), reinitiation, and reversals. Details from both the ODFI (Originating Depository Financial Institution) and the RDFI (Receiving Depository Financial Institution) – and what each participant is required to do according to the Nacha Operating Rules.

Other details will include: (1) An overview of Reg E Basics and Error Resolution and how this applies to ACH transactions; (2) Review on Federal Government Payments in the ACH Network and Reclamation processes; and (3) A recap of the most recent Nacha Operating Rules changes.

During this 2-day event, participants will participate in multiple scenarios and questions to keep the learner engaged throughout this virtual seminar. Handouts during seminar will include worksheets for the learner to complete periodically throughout the seminar as a review to ensure an understanding of the information covered during this virtual seminar.
