Why Should You Attend:
The providers and staff need to understand the rationale behind new codes. These code changes describe new methods of treatment as well as changes to methods currently used and support proven emerging technology as a form of treatment. Codes that are deleted represent old forms of treatment and if submitted to insurance companies will result in the claim being denied and payment being held for proper code submission, costing providers additional staff time for processing.
CPT® codes describe on a medical claim form submitted to insurance companies the services and procedures performed by professional providers for reimbursement. Applying the valid codes assist in timely reimbursement and ensures compliance with current coding rules and guidelines. It is important that anyone involved in choosing and submitting CPT® codes is aware of the current codes for the date in which they are billing for. These changes are implemented each year on January 1st with no grace period.
