Why Should You Attend:

Numerous industrial and construction accidents involve the unintended release of ENERGY. Many of these accidents are FATAL or at the least cause horrific amputations or crushing type injuries.

The LOTO Standard as invented by OSHA is intended to PREVENT these accidents by using a relatively simple sequential process of assuring a ZERO ENERGY STATE in a machine or process.

This Webinar will discuss the critical steps involved in establishing your LOTO program, describe key roles and responsibilities, talk about hardware and devices used in the LOTO process and cover the most common failures in the LOTO audit and inspection process.

The Webinar will allow questions and provide numerous examples of how to comply with the standard and write a solid LOTO plan. It is far more complex the simply buying and handing out locks and tags.

We will cover this OSHA Zero Energy Assurance Standard / Lock Out Tag Out Procedure from the perspective of the average industrial, commercial or construction business.

Areas Covered in the Webinar:

  1. Review of the Lock Out Tag Out Standard as it applies to YOUR industry and processes
  2. Common misperceptions and mistaken assumptions regarding what LOTO does and DOES NOT apply to
  3. How to write a LOTO plan for your business – small or large. Key elements of the plan
  4. The most common failures cited by OSHA on a compliance inspection in your facility
  5. Defensive Paper and Recordkeeping requirements for LOTO and the most effective methods of assuring they are up to date and stay current
  6. LOTO Hardware, tags, devices, attachments and methods
  7. Responsibilities of Supervision, managers, directors and officers
  8. Responsibilities of key classifications of employees- “Authorized, Affected and Other”
  9. Review of the multiple energy types and sources so you know you have them all covered in your Plan - it’s a lot more than just shutting off the electricity
