Filing the ISF is a US law that affects any shipper that wants to ship to the US. Companies cannot use the “I did not know” excuse. There are severe penalties for customers who do not follow the rules such as failure to file, late filing, not withdrawing the ISF. This includes fines starting at $5000 for the first offense. CBP ports are looking closely at all shipments and are no longer giving the 3-strike rule.
